the Malayan Banded Pitta is from the Thai-Malay Peninsula in Southeast Asia and Sumatra.

Description[]

The male bird of this species has a yellow eyebrow that fades to a dark orange near the back of the head. Its throat is white in the center but turns yellow at the sides. The rest of his head is black. Its chest is barred orange to the sides and and a deep indigo color toward the center. the rest of its belly is a dark blue-indigo color that fades inro a glossy black at the tail. His wings are brown with a white stripe on them, like all of the other banded pittas, and his tail is a cobalt blue. The female of this species looks exactly like the male but its whole belly is barred tan instead of having the blue and black there.
